Bat Management Solutions

All FBN management projects are research oriented and conservation based. Our long term research with urban bat populations began in 1993, while Laura was working toward her Masters degree at UCF. Her Masters research involved comparing microclimate in a variety of bat houses and occupied roosts to determine the optimal bat house design. All occupied roosts in her study were buildings occupied by ’nuisance’ colonies. It was here that we observed first hand the vulnerability of these populations — and began to realize urban bat populations are silently declining.
