Echolocation: Typical Lasiurine pattern of oscillating calls (25 – 30K), lower in freq than LASEBO.  Sometimes confused with TABR

Florida Distribution:  Peninsular FL

Roosting Behavior: Beneath dead palm fronds, tree foliage & Spanish moss.  Usually solitary, may  roost in small groups during maternity season.

Foraging Behavior: Leaf and plant hoppers, damselflies, ants, beetles, flies Thought to prefer upland pine and oak habitats.

Reproduction: Mate in fall? 2-4 young born late May-June.

Management and Conservation Recommendations:  LAIN acoustic files were recorded during surveys in FL, GA and SC.  Forest conservation that includes conservation of oak & palm hammocks, and landscape practices that preserve  palm skirts and limit removal of dead fronds
